Welcome to the Generic FM podcast station, showcasing the very best of its output in downloadable chunks with all the music cut out for legal reasons.
Generic FM 105.9 broadcasts exclusively to parts of Leytonstone where there aren't too many high buildings in the way, and can be streamed live on the net anywhere in the world simply by downloading a piece of annoying software which conflicts with at least three programs you've already got installed and makes your Tetris crash.

New Irk The Purists for 2009:
Show 22 - 13/03/09 - 83.1mb          >>> LATEST SHOW ONLINE <<<
Irk the Purists
- Comic Relief Special

(60'31)
Mike Scott returns to the airwaves after a year-long sabbatical as food critic on the Church of Scientology's newsletter to deliver a fresh slice of the usual 'stuff and nonsense' (assuming that the 'nonsense' in question is in fact a completely separate entity unconnected with or forming part of the all-encompassing 'stuff').
Music-wise it features "new songs and some old favorites" (as the intro to the Sing A Song Of Play School 1975 LP boasted). New songs include something by the Pet Shop Boys; old songs include a song from Sing A Song Of Play School).
You can also enjoy a round of the soon-to-be perennial parlour game 'My Wife Knows Nothing About Pop Music' and endure an interview with Roger Waters.
Feel free to distribute c/o a social-networking fad of your choice...

Factual

(Saturdays 12 - 1pm)

- Victor Lewis Smith

Anthropological

(Sundays 10 - 10.30am)
Seventeen years in the making - Evans and Champniss (and occasionally Scott) feature in a sonic delight compiled of ferric recordings which all pre-date the podcast revolution. Comedy in its purest form - musical atrocities, improvised sketches and jabber passim spanning the years 1982 - 1999.
Fun

(Sundays 8pm - 12am)
Four hours of chat, ROFLs and tickling from veteran Generic FM DJ Jodie Scone and friends. Whimsy, silliness and delightful giggles. No boring serious stuff allowed! Plus this week's phone-in topic: Should all gyppoes and blacks be deported? And if so - where from?
