He's got some good arguments although I'd contend that the most swearing in contemporary comedy manages to be less funny than Sid James' level of innuendo.
I was a little concerned, revisiting this show, that the pro-swearing stance he was taking back then may have contributed towards what followed - ie a load of 'Ooh, aren't we daring for saying fuck!' tedium in the late-90s / early 00s. But, no, Sadowitz pretty much covers all that too with his dismissal of the
Have I Got News For You clip.
It doesn't quite excuse him for taking the
11 O'Clock Show coin when it was offered, but... nah, sod it, that "Lenny The Bruce" gag makes up for it a thousand times over - as does the fact that Sadowitz leaves the studio at the end carrying 'Lenny's inflatable sheep (implying that he owned the prop in question!)

I'd love to hear Sadowitz talk at greater lentgth about the principles of comedy.
I'll be buying a USB video capture thing next week, hopefully. I'll make his
Just For Laughs interview (with Clive Anderson, during the week he was punched onstage by an offended audience member) a priority.
